Walk through 4 different ecosystems: forest edge, mangroves, estuary, and intertidal beach
Sign up for a fascinating 2 hour walk through the forests and roads of Avellanas to unveil all the animals and super interesting plants that inhabit in our coastal neighborhood. We will walk a 2 mile loop that will take throught trails and landscape that even some locals don´t know about it. We will spot from the vociferous monkeys, to the striking tropical birds and even the tiny crustean and shellfish that lives in between the tides. All of this while put our grain of sand by doing a beach clean-up as a small offering to nature.

Itinerary:
Meeting Point: Parking Lot of Cabinas Las Olas: Cabinas Las Olas
7:30 am: We will start discovering and spotting bird life, mammals, and reptiles that inhabit the Tropical Dry Forest.
Slowly we will start entering the Mangrove Forest where we will focus on the fascinating natural history of these unique plants.
830 am: We will enter the estuary where numerous wildlife encounter as the sweet and salty water blends on this natural pool.
Once we cross the estuary, we will explore the sandy intertidal zone, to spot from shellfish to sand dollars, and learn how they thrive here.
9:30 am: Finally we will get to the famous Rochelles Mangrove Bridge, one the most picturesque places and a hallmark of the conservation efforts of Cabinas Las Olas.
As a closing of this nature experience, enjoy a cold drink (smoothie, soda or beer) at the Hotel Bar, or have an $8pp discount at Las Olas Restaurant for a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner.
